This first-come-first-serve program is open to all Virgin Islanders who’ve purchased ENERGY STAR certified products from a VIEO approved vendor. What to Know

The EERE program helps Virgin Islanders to improve the energy efficiency of their homes by helping them invest in ENERGY STAR certified products. Energy Star appliances have been subject to rigours testing and verification by either the Department of Energy or the Environmental Protection Agency to ensure that they deliver their advertised energy savings. To make a rebate request you must submit your application in person to VIEO’s offices on St. Thomas or St. Croix. Rebate requests are processed on a first come, first serve, basis, and are subject to the availability of funding.

Pre-Application Checklist

VIEO accepts copies of all of the documents required to apply for EERE. There are five documents you must submit to VIEO in order to successfully apply for EERE, namely a valid USVI Government Issued ID, completed IRS W-9 form, an itemized receipt that clearly displays the appliance model number, an ENERGY STAR informational sheet specific to the appliance, and a signed copy of VIEO’s EERE Rebate Program Terms and Conditions. Homeowners seeking an EERE rebate for the installation of a solar water heater, as well as nonprofit organizations, and small businesses applying for the program are subject to further documentation requirements that can be found in the application packet.

Checking your Eligibility
To be eligible for an EERE rebate you must be a resident of the US Virgin Islands, and have purchased an official ENERGY STAR certified product from a VIEO approved vendor. Receipts are required and purchases must have been made on or after 11/24/2023. EERE rebates cover up to 40% of the purchase price of the appliance, up to a maximum limit of $5,000 per household or small business.
Required document list
1. Completed IRS W-9 form (with mailing address noted)
2. USVI Government-issued ID:
❖ A valid USVI driver’s license or
❖ A valid US Government-issued ID and stamped USVI Tax Return
3. A itemized receipt with model number clearly displayed from approved local vendor showing paid in full.
4. ENERGY STAR® product verification information matching model number on receipt.
