The 4th Annual KidWind Challenge took place at the All Saints Cathedral School on March 10, 2017. A total of 7 teams participated in the 2017 Challenge representing from St. Croix was the St. Croix Central High School and the Freewill Baptist School. Hailing from St. Thomas was the Charlotte Amalie High School, Eudora Kean High School, Sts. Peter & Paul School, St, Thomas – St. John SDA School, and All Saints Cathedral School (our event hosts and defending 2016 champions). After three rounds and an extremely close competition, All Saints-Vikings and St. Thomas -St. John SDA – Crusaders went head to head in each category with the judges awarding the title of 2017 KidWind Champs to St. Thomas – St. John SDA being the only school to answer the type of axis (horizontal or vertical) used in the creation of their turbine. The team scored 90.66 points out of a possible 100 points for their impressive win. The Crusaders will go on to represent the territory in the National KidWind Challenge in Anaheim, CA from May 22- 25, 2017 with a sponsored trip by the Energy Office. We wish them the best of luck!
